I earlier wrote about new flurry of deals amidst a near miss of a potential takeover by CSC shows that a lot more action await us ahead. Information Week now reports CSC is offering itself for sale. The report speculates about potential buyers ranging from a number of private equity firms, including Blackstone Group, Texas Pacific Group, and Warburg Pincus, Lockheed Martin and Hewlett-Packard. CSC obviously won't comment on the status of talks till things get formally finalized. Here's my bit : I am hearing speculations that an Indian headquartered service major has also submitted a bid to acquire the beleaguered giant. I can’t say anything beyond this now. I do think that private equity firms may find CSC an attractive target. In my view,a buy out by any service provider may be difficult to manage. CSC would be an attractive proposition to private equity firms because its low debt and high cash generating capability. Like others involved/following the development, I shall also await the CSC board decision.
