E-Europe Status Check

( Via Smartmobs . European nations are progressing at varying pace. A recent study has for the first time addressed and measured the “alignment” of the new EU Member States with the “old” ones with regard to the objectives set in the eEurope 2005 Action Plan.

The Index is a composite of five key indicators:

- General Internet indicators (citizens access to and use of the Internet,
Enterprises access to and use of ICT, and Internet access costs),
- modern online public services (e-government, e-learning, e-health),
- dynamic e-business environment (buying and selling online, e-business readiness),
- secure information infrastructure, and
- broadband.
